How do I find a specific issue of a newspaper?
Answer
When searching for a current or past issue of a newspaper, first follow these steps to locate the AACPL Premium Electronic Resource with full-text access to issues of the desired publication.
Some publications are available in multiple databases. In this case, which database you use is based on your personal preference. Many of our most popular domestic newspapers are sourced through America's News by NewsBank and U.S. Newsstream via Proquest, with many of them also available through News (GaleOneFile). Most of our international newspapers are sourced through News (Gale OneFile).
Once you've found the database that provides access to the newspaper you're looking for, visit our instructions for finding a specific newspaper issue in each of these Library Exclusive Resources:
Most newspapers on our databases are text-only, meaning you won’t see the images or formatting used in the print version, just the text from that newspaper’s articles. Some newspapers on America’s News by Newsbank offer digital copies of print publications that include the formatting and images used in the print version. The format of these types of publications is listed as “Image.” This type of format is meant to simulate the experience of reading a hard copy of the newspaper online.
