How can I find a specific newspaper or magazine online?
Answer
The library offers access to online Premium Electronic Resources where you can read current and past issues of a variety of magazines, journals and newspapers.
To find a specific publication, visit our Magazines & Newspapers page to see if the title you seek is listed there. You can find this page by visiting the AACPL homepage, hovering over "Books & More" and selecting "Magazines & Newspapers," which is listed under "Digital Library."

If the newspaper or magazine you're searching for is listed on this page, click directly on the publication title and enter your AACPL library card number to access articles from current and past issues.

If the publication isn’t listed on the Magazines & Newspapers page, search our EBSCO Discovery Service Publication Finder for the publication you’re interested in.

Once you’ve located the correct newspaper, magazine or journal, click on it to view additional information such as which AACPL databases provide full-text access to this title and which publication dates and issues are available. *This will not show magazines available in Libby. Please search the AACPL catalog, Overdrive Magazines or the Libby app to find magazine titles in Libby.

If there are multiple databases listed, select the database that has the publication years you need. For example, if you're searching for current issues of The New York Times, select the option that lists “Present” as the end date. If you need previous issues, select the option that includes the desired publication date.

Many newspapers and news magazines offer both print and web editions of their publications. Be sure to select the correct edition you are looking for when possible. For example, an article in the print edition may have a different publication date than the corresponding online article, and the online article may contain more recent updates than the printed article. If you can’t find the article you’re looking for in the print edition, try searching the online edition and vice versa.

Some publications are available in multiple databases. In this case, which database you use is based on your personal preference. Please feel free to try them all; each resource has a different look and feel, and you may find you enjoy using one over another.
