Is the library giving out eclipse glasses?
Answer
North America will soon experience two eclipses that will be partially observable in Maryland: an annular solar eclipse on October 14, 2023, and a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024.
To encourage safe viewing, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation has generously granted Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) certified solar eclipse viewing glasses from the Space Science Institute.
- Free glasses will only be available to attendees of AACPL's eclipse related programs and activities (while supplies last).
- Due to the limited supply, please save the glasses to view the total eclipse on April 8, 2024.
- Regularly check AACPL's event calendar for eclipse-related programs in 2023 and 2024.
