Why did the library stop offering remote access to Ancestry?

Answer

The library subscription to Ancestry Library Edition has long been available in-branch only. From March of 2020 through December 31, 2021, Ancestry did allow remote (home) access to this resource for library customers in response to the COVID-19 situation. That level of access is not available for libraries to purchase. Ancestry Library Edition can still be accessed from library computers and wifi.

Many of the library's other genealogy resources can still be accessed from home computers, including Fold3, Heritage Quest and Historical Newspapers.
