Q. Why am I getting a "site not secure" message when I visit the Library website?


Please be assured that AACPL's sites, and the security of our sites, has not changed, and it is ok to ignore these messages when logging into your library account.  

You are getting these messages due to some recent Firefox and Chrome updates which cause the display of security messages in the address bar and login forms when loading sites that do not start with "https".  Again, the security of AACPL's sites has not changed, and it's okay to proceed. Please note that SmartPay, our fine payment portal is a secure site. Additionally, we are taking action to upgrade all of our websites to https, and hope to have this completed by summer 2017.
